  Communications

Communications is often the most overlooked aspect of Condominium Management and is, in our experience, absolutely essential to ensure Resident satisfaction with their Condominium. Unfortunately, most Management Companies limit communications with Residents to those mandated by the Act. At Daniels Home Management, we have taken communication to a whole new level. The result is Residents who feel they are being kept up to date and well informed about the management of their home. The following is some of the innovative communication strategies we bring to our communities. We also work closely with the Board to further develop a communication strategy to make sure Residents are aware of the Board's activities on their behalf.
  • Our condominiums are equipped with “Front Desk,” an innovative software program which allows for increased communication and service, including online Rec Facility bookings, Newsletters, Announcements, Building Web site, Phone Calls, Visitor Parking Registration, and a Document Library.
  • Where most Management companies hold one meeting per year for all residents (The Annual General Meeting mandated by the Act), we organize and recommend the Board have quarterly resident/owner Information meetings. This allows for the effective and ongoing communication of Board activities, valuable presentations regarding fire drills etc., and an opportunity for residents to ask questions and stay informed and develop a strong sense of community in the Condominium.
  • Our policy is that wherever possible we communicate with Residents by phone or in person rather than by impersonal letters. Although we recognize and do ensure records of communication are kept in writing we are committed to making sure that we do not lose sense of the importance of building valuable and lasting relationships.
  • We also encourage our Board Members to further their knowledge of Condominium Management through invitations to various seminars held through the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario and through the Canadian Condominium Institute. With new issues facing the condominium industry, we invite industry experts to information seminars for Board members always making sure that you are up to date with changes that can affect your condominium.
  • We also deliver a monthly report to the Board prior to each Board meeting that includes the financial report, outstanding issues, correspondence with Residents, and any issues that the Board needs to consider prior to the meeting.

Valentina Fournier is Vice Chair of the Social Committee at Claridges at Bayview in North York and loves her life in this condominium. “We have an astute board of directors, and our Property Manager from Daniels Home Management is excellent and approachable – a good ambassador. I play the piano in the lounge, and it wasn’t tuned properly. He tried it, agreed and brought in a piano tuner. Now the notes sing, and playing is a pleasure.”
